# Help

Relyo connects you with your support contact without installing anything. This page explains how a support session works, what the other person sees and how to end it at any time. Help for supporters follows further down.

## For users

Relyo’s dialogs are currently only available in German. The German labels are given in brackets below.

### How a support session works

1. **Tap “Support”.** On a website the link is usually in the footer, in an app in the settings. Relyo shows a 6-digit code. It is valid for 10 minutes and can be used once.
2. **Read out the code.** Tell the code to your contact on the phone or in the chat.
3. **Share.** A dialog with “Share” (“Freigeben”) and “Decline” (“Ablehnen”) appears. Only after sharing can the other person see your screen.

During the session a red frame shows that your screen is shared. A small red indicator with an “End” (“Beenden”) button sits at the bottom on websites and at the top in apps. On websites you can drag it elsewhere if it covers something.

### What the other person sees

- **On a website:** only this one browser tab, plus mouse pointer, clicks and scrolling. Other tabs, programs and your desktop stay hidden.
- **In an app:** only the interface of this app. Other apps, notifications and the keyboard stay hidden.
- **Never:** passwords, payment details and fields the website or app has marked as confidential. They are covered on your device.

The other person can point on your screen and draw arrows or circles. They can only take control if you explicitly allow it in a second dialog.

### Ending the session or control

- **End the session:** “End” (“Beenden”) in the red indicator. The transmission stops at once.
- **Stop control:** “Stop control” (“Steuerung beenden”), or simply click, tap or scroll yourself. Any input of your own ends control at once.
- Closing the tab or app also ends the session.

## For supporters

### Entering the code

Enter the code on the [home page](/en/). It starts automatically after 6 digits, spaces don’t matter. You don’t need an account. Then wait until the other person shares their screen on their device.

### Live view and tools

| Tool | Key | Effect |
| --------------- | --- | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| Pointer | P | Your pointer appears on the user’s screen |
| Draw | D | Freehand, arrow or circle; fades after a few seconds |
| Clear drawings | C | Removes all drawings at once |
| Request control | R | Requests control; press R again to stop it |
| Reload view | S | Fetches a fresh state of the screen |
| End session | Esc | Asks for confirmation and ends the session |

### Control

After “Request control” the other person sees a second dialog. Only after “Allow control” (“Steuerung erlauben”) can you click, type and scroll. As soon as the user enters something themselves, control ends. You can request it again afterwards.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need to install anything?

No. Users only need the website or app that has Relyo built in. Supporters only need an up-to-date browser.

### Is the session recorded?

Not on relyo.de. Screen content is only forwarded live and not stored. If someone runs their own Relyo server with recording, the share dialog says so explicitly.

### The code is not accepted. What now?

Check the digits and whether the code is older than 10 minutes. Each code works once. If in doubt, the other person taps “Support” again and tells you the new code.

### It says all support slots are taken.

relyo.de is a free demo service with limited slots. Try again in a few minutes.

### Is this remote access like TeamViewer?

No. Relyo is [co-browsing](/en/co-browsing): only the one browser tab or app is shared, not the whole computer. Control is limited to this page or app and needs your consent.

### Who sees my data?

Only your support contact, while the session is running. Details are in the [privacy policy](/en/datenschutz).
